Three things that are true here and are not true everywhere
An instrument built to the real thing
Reading is 14 questions in 40 minutes for 33 marks, Mathematical Reasoning has five options and Thinking Skills is verbal. We rebuilt our tests when the test changed. The screen your child sits in front of has the same controls, the same timer and the same progress box as the real one — no Skip button, because the real test has no Skip button.
The method is published, limits and all
The loudest complaint in this market is that practice tests are far harder than the real test, so a score off one predicts nothing. We publish how each test's difficulty was set, what that band rests on and what it does not rest on yet — including that no child has sat these papers, so nothing here is calibrated against real responses. You can read it before you buy.
The loop closes
A report that names a weakness and stops is half a product. Every weakness comes with a way to work on it and a later question that proves whether the work landed — and if it did not, the report says so.
The instrument
Why exam mode looks plain
The real test has no Skip button, no colour-coded question palette and no auto-advance. It has a four-state progress box, Back / Flag / Next, an hours-and-minutes timer you can hide, and four zoom presets. Ours has exactly that, because a practice test that is friendlier than the real one is measuring the wrong thing. Practice mode is where the palette, the Skip button and the immediate feedback live.

- Which skills are strong and which are not, with the number of questions each judgement rests on.
- Careless mistakes separated from knowledge gaps, and speed separated from accuracy.
- How this sitting compares with the child's own previous sittings, adjusted for test difficulty.
- What to do next, and one uncapped free way to do it for every weakness found.
What it will never tell you
- A national percentile, a predicted OC score or an overall rank. The Department publishes no score and no rank, so there is no cohort to compute one against, and an invented one would be worse than nothing.
- Any claim about your child's chances of selection.
The ladder
The tests get harder as your child gets better
A book of thirty tests at one difficulty measures the same thing thirty times. Ours are banded, and the report adjusts for the band — so an unchanged mark on a harder paper reads as progress rather than as a plateau. The band is set when the paper is written and checked by rule; no child has sat these papers yet, so it is an authored judgement rather than a measured one, and the report tells you where that adjustment is doing a lot of work.
